We think one cello is great, but two is even better. Unfortunately, most of the classical masters didn't see if that way. 2VC is dedicated to commissioning composers we admire to write new music for two cellos, occasionally with an added instrument.

Cellists Jessie Reagen Mann and Eugene Carr met as Musicians-in-Residence at Congregation B'nai Jeshurun on Manhattans's Upper West Side.

We quickly discovered the joy in playing together and how few pieces were composed for 2 cellos. With varied Classical, Rock, Improvisatory and Jazz backgrounds, we want to share our excitement and enthusiasm of this new repertoire with you.

To date, we have commissioned eight compositions.
